Job summary

LyondellBasell seeks a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our Edison team, supporting plant operations, maintenance, and reliability. You will implement reliability best practices, develop preventive maintenance tasks, and collaborate with process engineering, capital projects, and maintenance to improve safety and reliability across the site.

The role involves leading long-range machinery upgrade plans, providing technical support during project design and installation, and mentoring junior

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment design, installation, and maintenance in refining/petrochemical/chemical or power generation industries.
  • Ability to drive continuous safety and reliability improvements in equipment installations and work processes.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (ASME/API/ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • Be the site subject matter expert for a variety of machinery assets (pumps, compressors, fans, gearboxes, etc.).
  • Monitor equipment performance and make improvement recommendations.
  • Apply data analysis to develop engineering solutions for repetitive failures related to rotating equipment.
  • Lead development of long-range plans for plant machinery upgrades, maintenance, and overhauls.
  • Develop and implement best maintenance practices and reliability improvements site-wide.
