Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a technician to install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems for transmission and distribution operations. The role enhances reliability and safety by diagnosing, interpreting schematics, and coordinating repairs in industrial settings.

Your responsibilities include testing, commissioning, and maintaining relays and meters, interpreting wiring diagrams, using test equipment, and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of relevant electrical experience OR an associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year of relevant experience
• Possess a valid/active U.S. Work Authorization
• NETA / NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience

Responsibilities

• Programs, installs and maintains protective relaying and metering systems
• Performs electrical tests and repairs to prevent and remedy abnormal behavior or failure
• Interpret electrical diagrams and schematics to locate defective equipment
• Operate test equipment safely and follow company safety handbook
• Commission new relay and metering installations
• Coordinate testing and repairs with other departments
• Provide maintenance and testing of relays, meters, and associated equipment
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of system failures
• Support emergency call-outs and special projects
