Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) seeks a Relay Technician II to perform electrical testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of protective relays in power substations. You will use relay test equipment to test various relays and support field projects across North America.

Qualifications

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Willing to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Hands-on experience with installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays.
  • Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety culture and assist team members.
  • Install, commission, test and maintain protective relays.
  • Develop commissioning and maintenance procedures for relays.
  • Test substation control circuits on relay panels and breakers.
  • Create relay testing routines and macros.
  • Perform end-to-end relay tests using relay test software.
  • Check relay settings and logic for correct operation.
  • Develop outage testing and isolation procedures.
  • Perform SCADA/communication testing (GOOSE, Modbus, fiber).
  • Conduct circuit analysis on protective relays and instrumentation.
