Job summary

Provident Bank is seeking a Personal Banker to establish relationships with customers, understand financial needs, and provide a positive experience while handling transactions. The role blends both sales and service duties across a branch, with opportunities to cross-sell and support digital tools.

The position requires ability to meet sales targets, manage cash drawers, and collaborate with branch leadership. Training, compliance, and licensing opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 6 months of sales and service experience in a customer facing retail environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexible schedule based on the needs of the business.
• Demonstrates a positive and professional demeanor with customers and co-workers.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Proficient at establishing strong connections with customers through consultative conversations.
• Ability to quickly learn various computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
• Must register as a mortgage loan originator with the NMLS before handling mortgage loan applications.

Responsibilities

• Meet sales referrals and cross-selling goals by knowing the features and benefits of all products and services to satisfy customer needs.
• Promotes bank products and refers or resolves customer inquiries concerning accounts or other banking services.
• Refer customers for commercial products or services to branch manager or business partners.
• Exceed customer expectations through active engagement and commitment to servicing and building relationships.
• Develop and grow a book-of-business by expanding relationships with current and prospective customers.
