Job summary

Provident Bank is seeking a Personal Banker to build relationships with customers and fulfill financial needs through a mix of transactions and sales. You will open accounts, assist with deposits and loan payments, and cross-sell products while delivering an excellent customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 6 months of sales and service experience in a customer facing retail environment.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Demonstrates positive and professional demeanor with all customers and co-workers.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Understand and adhere to safety and security practices.
• Demonstrate and apply good relationship building skills.
• Proficient at establishing strong connections with customers and prospective customers through consultative conversations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong PC skills. Ability to quickly learn various computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
• Required to register as a mortgage loan originator with the NMLS prior to being allowed to take mortgage loan applications.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with customers and prospective customers to understand and satisfy financial needs.
• Process a variety of financial transactions (opening accounts, check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments).
• Cross-sell bank products and refer customers to other departments.
• Meet sales referrals and exceed customer service expectations.
• Assist branch management with daily branch responsibilities and end-of-day tasks.
