Job summary

Provident Bank in New Jersey is seeking a Personal Banker to establish relationships with customers and prospective customers, understand financial needs, and provide a positive customer experience during every branch interaction. This role blends transaction and sales duties, including opening accounts, cross-selling, and servicing accounts.

The Personal Banker may research account issues, promote products, and assist branch management with daily tasks.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
6 months of sales and service experience in a customer facing retail environment.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication.
Flexible schedule based on business needs.
Professional demeanor with customers and coworkers.
Strong math and analytical skills.
Adherence to safety and security practices.
Relationship-building and consultative selling.
Carrying strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in learning MS Office and computer programs.
Must register as a mortgage loan originator with the NMLS before handling mortgage loans.

Responsibilities

Meet sales referrals and cross-selling goals by knowing product features and benefits.
Promote bank products and resolve customer inquiries.
Refer customers to business partners for commercial products.
Excel in customer service and build lasting relationships.
Grow a book of business through consultative needs assessments.
