Job summary

United Bank of Michigan is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator for the West Michigan market. The role focuses on building relationships, guiding customers through mortgage options, and handling applications and documentation with attention to detail.

Ideal candidates have a degree and some related experience; travel to meet clients is required, with potential weekend/evening hours and compliance duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training.
• Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Interfaces, and Web applications.
• To register and maintain NMLS Unique Identifying Number.
• Regular sitting, occasional standing and walking; ability to meet with clients.

Responsibilities

• Interview loan applicants and explain mortgage products.
• Assist customers with inquiries and mortgage information.
• Complete loan applications and related documents; examine financials and credit reports.
• Evaluate mortgage qualifications on a preliminary basis.
• Travel to meet with clients on and off site; may conduct inspections and work varied hours.
