Job summary

KeyBank is seeking a Personal Banker to engage clients and build relationships in the Amherst, NY area. The role emphasizes understanding client needs, providing guidance on financial wellness, and driving new client acquisition while expanding existing relationships with personalized solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources.
• Understanding of consumer credit - including loan to value, debt to income and credit reports.
• Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele-consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking.
• Comfortable interacting with small business clients, overcoming objection, and asking fact-finding questions with the goal of being helpful.
• Demonstrated experience with influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence.
• Working knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office Products) including Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Engages clients to uncover needs and provide guidance and solutions for financial wellness.
• Opens personal and business accounts (checking, deposits, CDs, lending, etc.).
• Develops partnerships with branch teammates and business partners to grow client relationships.
• Ensures compliance with policies and proper documentation of client interactions.
• Supports branch operations and assists with Teller transactions as needed.
• Participates in morning huddles and end-of-day debriefs; may lead sessions.
• Work on Saturdays as directed by management.
