Job summary

Hylant seeks a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims and relations with reinsurers. You will ensure compliance with company policies, assist in efficient claim settlements and generate insightful reinsurance reports.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting or finance, at least 3 years in reinsurance or related finance, and strong Excel/MS Office skills. Travel by car or air for meetings may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with relevant certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, insurance or similar financial area.
• Proficient in MS Office; strong Excel skills and data analysis abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and financial accounting of premiums, claims and reserves based on statements of accounts or bordereaux.
• Review reinsurance contracts for policy adherence and guidelines.
• Manage processing and settlement of reinsurance claims with accuracy and speed.
• Generate reinsurance reports and analyses to support decision-making.
• Build and maintain relationships with reinsurers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify process improvements and support standardization of workflows.
• Participate in training and keep SOPs up to date.
