Hylant in the United States is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to manage and analyze reinsurance contracts, claims, and relationships with reinsurers. This role ensures accurate statutory and internal accounting, supports decision-making with reports, and drives process improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 3+ years in reinsurance accounting, and strong MS Office skills. Travel for meetings and conferences is expected.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, insurance or similar financial area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, primarily Excel, Outlook, Teams.
• Skilled at building and maintaining internal and external (carrier) relationships.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.

Responsabilidades

• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts to ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines.
• Manage the processing and settlement of reinsurance claims, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Generate reinsurance reports and conduct analysis to support decision-making.
• Consult internal stakeholders on Statutory and Reinsurance Accounting expertise and guidance.
• Drive continuous process improvement and standardization; actively identify areas for process improvement and inefficiencies.
• Join relevant training sessions to maintain current relevant knowledge and of the system, processes, and changes.
• Keep SOP/training guides up to date for role and processes in collaboration with Captive Account Executives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
