Job summary

Mercy seeks a dedicated Patient Care Assistant to support therapists in the Rehabilitation department. Under the Physical Therapy Supervisor, you will assist with patient care for all ages, help with registration and scheduling, and prepare treatment areas.

You will transfer patients to and from the Rehab Therapy Gym, greet patients, and perform routine receptionist duties as needed. A strong work ethic, teamwork, and clear communications are essential to provide safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• One year experience or education in therapies preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to enter charges and assist with scheduling; assist with treatment areas as directed.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists with patient care duties under supervision.
• Assist with registration and scheduling of patients.
• Transfer patients to/from Rehab Therapy Gym.
• Provide excellent patient interactions and maintain safety.
• Prepare treatment areas and assist during procedures as directed by therapists.
• Greet patients and visitors and notify therapists of arrival.
• Occasionally perform receptionist duties and transportation of patients.
