Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Rehabilitation Services Manager II to lead the Wilmington VR/IL Unit, supervising 35 staff and overseeing the Independent Living Section and satellite offices in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender Counties.

You will provide administrative, clinical, and case management supervision, design development plans, and coordinate services with diverse partners while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, counseling, or related human services field with four years of independent counseling experience and supervisory experience.
• Alternative: CRCC certification with four years of independent counseling experience and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a staff of 35 and oversee Independent Living Section and satellite offices in multiple counties.
• Provide leadership to meet agency mission and goals within the unit’s values.
• Provide administrative, clinical, and case management supervision including training and personnel evaluation.
• Design and implement action plans to develop personnel and programs.
• Coordinate services with third‑party schools, community programs, and divisions, ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations and DHHS/DVR policies.
