Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Rehabilitation Nurse Technician (RNT) to support adults and children in a rehabilitation setting. The role operates under RN supervision, assisting with ADLs, mobility, skin care, bowel/bladder programs, and monitoring vitals.

The RNT participates in unit quality projects and precepts new staff, contributing to a safe, patient-centered care environment. The position is 8-hour shifts at 0.8 FTE on-site in Wheaton, IL, with a focus on teamwork and patient

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant certification (C.N.A.) is required or current enrollment in an RN Nursing Program, with two clinical rotations.
• Maintains current CPR certification.
• Basic math skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene and mobility.
• Collect vital signs and document accurately.
• Support patient transfer and safe ambulation under RN supervision.
• Assist with meals, feeding and nutrition documentation as ordered.
• Perform data collection and assist with unit quality projects as needed.
• Provide supervision to new employees and nursing students during rotations.
