Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Rehabilitation Nurse Technician to join the care team. Under RN supervision, the RNT assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility, and supports interventions to promote independence. The role includes data collection for unit quality projects and precepting new staff.

Responsibilities cover skin care, bowel/bladder programs, vital signs, and safe patient handling. A 0.8 FTE schedule with 8-hour shifts and a $1,500 sign-on bonus are noted.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current CNA certification or enrollment in RN program with two clinical rotations completed.
• CPR certification required.
• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people and provide high-level customer service.
• Understanding and support of Northwestern Medicine's Mission and Values.
• Flexibility to adapt in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility under RN supervision.
• Maintain clean and safe environment for patients.
• Assist with skin, bowel and bladder programs and monitoring.
• Document vital signs and report abnormalities to RN.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and use of assistive devices.
• Assist with meals, feeding, and dietary intake as ordered.
• Support patient with swallowing strategies as directed.
