Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• BLS Certification with the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Follows standard precautions and infection control policies consistently.
• Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, cleans equipment according to standards.
• Independently maintains all equipment cleaning logs and performs monthly maintenance.
• Ensures EOC meets JCAHO standards at all times.
• Demonstrates competence in performing tasks identified as appropriate treatment for Rehab Services Tech. Treats patients under direct clinical supervision and anticipates therapist’s needs during patient care.
• Communicates promptly to the therapist any observed changes in patient status and responses; clarifies special procedures or observations.
• Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the plan of care under the discretion of the therapist.
• Consults other departments as appropriate for interdisciplinary approach to patient’s needs.
• Follows all policy and procedures for documentation of treatment rendered by rehab tech.
• Communicates with patients and guests, greeting them, confirming identity, and providing necessary visit information.
• Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
• Schedules, confirms, and reschedules patients for visits at Rehabilitation Services and satellite locations.
• Additional responsibilities may include: obtaining consents/authorizations; managing department-specific Rehab Services Call List; identifying patient medical record numbers; updating patient demographics, insurance and billing info; collecting co-payments and payments; posting payments and closing cash drawer; faxing documentation to insurers/physicians for authorization; managing clinic inventory.
