Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Kentucky to support nurses with basic patient care, vital signs, and mobility assistance in a compassionate, patient-focused environment. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, strong communication with the care team, and delivering excellent service to patients and families.

Preferred candidates hold a nursing aide training program completion or STNA/Nurse Aide certification; BLS is preferred on hire.

Qualifications

• Provides basic patient care incl. comfort, hygiene and mobility.
• Monitors vital signs and reports changes to nurse.
• Delivers high level customer service to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care to include care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assists with mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to all patients, patient's family, visitors, and employees.
• Provides accurate, precise, timely documentation for patient care.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information upon arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe techniques to foster independence.
