Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Mobility Technician in a hospital rehabilitation setting to assist with patient mobility and collaborate with physical therapy and nursing teams. You will provide direct patient care, monitor vital signs, educate families, document outcomes, and uphold safety standards as part of a care team focused on mobility and discharge planning.

This role requires a high school diploma, CPR/BLS, and strong communication; prior health care experience and familiarity

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or GED equivalent programs.
• Basic math, medical terminology, and literacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Suite and EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physical therapy, nursing teams and other professionals to meet patient mobility needs.
• Provide patient care based on physical, psychosocial, education, safety and related criteria for the patient age group served.
• Ensure safe patient outcomes through judgment, practice and critical actions.
• Develop rapport with patients and foster an environment conducive to goal achievement.
• Independently provide direct hands-on mobility and educate families on mobility techniques for discharge planning.
• Monitor/record vital signs and document findings in the chart; notify RN of abnormal results as required.
• Maintain safety standards and correct body mechanics during activities.
• Complete documentation and communicate mobility status with care team.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and applicable safety policies.
