Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking a Mobility Technician to support patient mobility in an acute care hospital setting. The role reports to the Department of Rehabilitation in partnership with nursing leadership and emphasizes collaboration with the rehab team.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic math and medical terminology knowledge, and strong communication skills. Computer proficiency with EPIC is required.

The Mobility Technician, under the direction of the department of rehabilitation in partnership with nursing unit leadership, assists with patient care related activities to improve and enhance the mobility of patients in an acute care hospital setting.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Basic math, medical terminology, and literacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Suite platforms and EPIC.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Enrolled in a Certified Nursing Assistant Program, Patient Care Technician Program or health sciences program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year or more of experience in health care is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 or more years of experience in customer service or patient care preferred.
• Possess knowledge of common hospital equipment used in patient care.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
