Job summary

The Oregon Public Utility Commission (PUC) seeks a Director for the Water, Telecom, Safety, and Consumers Program (WTSC) to lead a team of three managers and about 36 staff. The role ensures regulatory positions, wildfire mitigation, and consumer protections align with state priorities and public interest.

The WTSC Director will engage with legislators, Governor’s office, and external agencies, guiding policy and program work while promoting inclusivity and accountability within a dynamic

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of management experience; OR two years of management plus a related bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills across diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience guiding regulatory policy and public-facing legislative processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide organizational leadership to the WTSC and oversee direct-report managers and staff.
  • Develop strategies with managers to analyze issues for agency proceedings and present well-supported recommendations.
  • Represent the agency in external forums and coordinate with lawmakers, Governors office, and other partners.
