Job summary

The Office of the Governor in Virginia is seeking a Regulatory Analyst to support the Governor’s policy agenda through regulatory oversight and analysis. This in-person role is based in Richmond and offers an opportunity to impact public welfare by tracking regulatory actions and preparing clear policy memos.

You will review proposed regulations for readability and alignment with priorities, collaborate with secretariats and agencies, and identify process improvements while building consensus

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant public policy or government experience.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to translate complex issues into clear information.
• Willingness to learn Virginia regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Track and monitor regulatory actions from across state agencies.
• Analyze proposed regulations for readability and public welfare.
• Prepare policy memos with clear recommendations.
• Facilitate communications between Governor’s Office, secretariats, and agencies.
• Review legislation to assess impact on regulations.
• Conduct research on regulatory, policy, and legislative topics.
• Monitor state and federal regulatory developments.
