Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Regulatory Specialist with the Ability to Perform GIS Services to provide technical support on environmental permitting for renewable energy projects. You will join our Environmental Services team and help navigate federal, state, and local approvals while collaborating with public agencies and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in Environmental Science with GIS training and 0–3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field with demonstrated GIS training or course work.
• 0-3 Years of Experience
• Previous experience in environmental permitting and/or providing GIS services in support of environmental projects preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Access various online databases containing environmental information and create GIS graphics displaying the information
• Complete desktop reviews of the above and any other available information to determine environmental constraints
• Draft summary memorandum detailing the results of the desktop review
• Develop submittals for any agency required review and/or permitting tasks
• Develop submittals related to local land use permitting
• Coordinate permitting for railroad and utility crossings
• Occasionally attend public meetings in support of projects which will require interaction with public officials and local residents
• Communicate (written and orally) and collaborate with the project team to provide task updates and ensure consistency in project execution
