Job summary

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) seeks a Program Coordinator I to support the Sex Offender and Public Protection Registration program. The role involves audits, data analyses, and ensuring accuracy across websites and databases.

Primary duties include training staff, coordinating with local sheriffs’ SOR teams, and serving as a point of contact for federal partners. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. Background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience auditing registration files and reviewing criminal histories.
• Ability to obtain DCIN certification within six months.
• Strong communication and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Conducts compliance audit of local sheriffs’ SOR files.
• Provides training to new staff members and administrative specialists.
• Provides on-site training to the local Sheriffs’ SOR staff.
• Assists the administrative specialists with processing weekly offender address verification letters.
• Serves as the POC to USMS, ICE, and the US Probation offices’ POCs on registration issues.
• Serves as a lead staff member in the absence of the unit supervisor.
• Serves as the POC for SORNA relocations and court-ordered petitions.
