Job summary

State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in North Carolina seeks a Program Coordinator III (NS) to oversee the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry program within the Criminal Information and Identification Section. This role ensures public access, compliance, and coordination with local, state, and federal agencies.

The position involves managing staff, coordinating workflows, and working closely with SBI IT, Legislative Affairs, and Legal Counsel on regulatory matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience related to the area of assignment or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Sex Offender Registration Program unit to support public access and respond to inquiries from local, state and federal agencies.
• Maintain awareness of technical and transactional functions of the NC Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry Program and coordinate with SBI IT staff for changes.
• Collaborate with Legislative Affairs Manager and Legal Counsel on matters affecting the registry.
• Develop and supervise staff, plan and direct workflow within the unit.
• Coordinate and supervise special projects related to the registry with other agencies and analyze offender data to identify needs and funding opportunities.
