Job summary

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in North Carolina is seeking a Program Coordinator I to perform audit and investigative analysis supporting the Sex Offender and Public Protection registration program. You will provide investigative assistance, conduct data analyses, and review website and database integrity.

Responsibilities include on-site audits, staff training, and acting as a POC for partner agencies. Bachelor’s degree required and successful background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Experience reviewing criminal histories, judgments, court orders, and registration documents.
• Auditing sheriff Registration files for completeness and accuracy.
• Strong communication by phone, email, and in person in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance audits of local sheriffs’ SOR files.
• Provide training to new staff and administrative specialists.
• On-site training to local Sheriffs’ SOR staff.
• Assist with processing weekly offender address verification letters.
• Serve as POC to USMS, ICE, and US Probation on registration issues.
• Lead staff member in supervisor’s absence.
