Job summary

Iredell Memorial Hospital Incorporated is seeking an Outpatient Registration Clerk to manage the registration for outpatient visits, complete and scan all documents, and verify patients’ medical coverage when possible at the Statesville campus.

Shift: Sat & Sun, 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM. This clerical role requires accuracy, basic typing, and working knowledge of medical terminology and insurance concepts. High school diploma or equivalent is expected, with some related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more of on-the-job experience in a like or similar position is desired.
• Must have proficiency in typing, English and spelling.
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, insurances, etc. preferred.
• Computer experience required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology desired.
• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Duties include the registration of outpatient visits, the completion and scanning all documents related to the registration, the verification of patients’ medical coverage when possible and other duties related to outpatient registration.
