Job summary

Iredell Health System is seeking an Outpatient Registration Clerk to handle the registration of outpatient visits, document completion and scanning, and verification of patients’ medical coverage. The role supports efficient patient flow in the clinic setting.

The position requires basic computer skills, reliable typing, and a high school diploma. Weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM–11:00 AM) are included as part of the schedule, with on-site duties in Statesville, NC.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Six months or more of on-the-job experience in a like or similar position is desired
• Must have proficiency in typing, English and spelling
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, insurances, etc. preferred
• Computer experience required
• Working knowledge of medical terminology desired
• Must be able to perform required physical tasks (lift up to 25 pounds)

Job description

The Outpatient Registration Clerk is responsible for all aspects of the outpatient registration functions of the hospital. Duties include the registration of outpatient visits, the completion and scanning all documents related to the registration, the verification of patients’ medical coverage when possible and other duties related to outpatient registration.

Shift:

Sat & Sun, 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more of on-the-job experience in a like or similar position is desired.
• Must have proficiency in typing, English and spelling.
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, insurances, etc. preferred.
• Computer experience required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology desired.
• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
