Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Registered Polysomnography Tech to support our Sleep Center leadership in delivering diagnostic and therapeutic sleep services. The role includes performing polysomnography, patient preparation, data collection, and patient education to aid physicians’ interpretations.

We require a high school diploma and one year of relevant neurophysiology or sleep medicine experience, with RPSGT or RST certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of experience in neurophysiology or sleep medicine preferred.
• Licensure/certification: RPSGT or RST or SDS/RT depending on state.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred, required before patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient, explains procedures, reviews clinical data, and operates PSG equipment to obtain diagnostic recordings.
• Documents detailed technical reports for physician interpretation and reviews studies with physicians for discrepancies.
• Administers neurodiagnostic procedures under established protocols and monitors test quality; maintains clean work area.
• Coordinates patient scheduling, handles payments, and assists with general office tasks.
• Demonstrates ongoing continuing education to stay current in neurodiagnostic field.
• Performs sleep staging and event scoring per AASM guidelines; may conduct QA as needed.
• Troubleshoots polysomnographic and office equipment.
