Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Council Bluffs, IA, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide care for neonate to adult patients. The role requires assessment, delivery of respiratory therapies, and documentation per physician orders, with a focus on safe, effective patient care.

The successful candidate will have an AS degree with a Respiratory Care certificate (BS degree preferred), CRT or RRT credentials, Iowa license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications as required.

Qualifications

• AS degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care is preferred.
• 3–6 months of on-the-job hospital experience is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex respiratory therapies under supervision.
• Document assessments and interventions in the medical record.
• Interpret orders and coordinate with physicians for patient care plans.
• Communicate patient status to care team and update care plans.
• Ensure protocol-based therapy and high-quality patient care.
• Assist with departmental flow and maintain equipment readiness.
• Support patient satisfaction goals through quality care and responsiveness.
• Provide education and support to colleagues on care procedures.
