Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Methodist Jennie Edmundson in Council Bluffs, IA. The role performs varied respiratory modalities, documents care, and collaborates with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements include an AS degree with a Respiratory Care certificate, CRT or RRT, Iowa license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 3–6 months’ experience. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Associate's of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care required.
• Bachelor's of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care preferred.
• 3-6 months hospital experience to gain knowledge of policies, procedures and routines.
• CRT or RRT certification required within 12 months; Iowa license as RCP IA required; BLS required; ACLS and PALS required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex modalities of respiratory care independently with competency.
• Documents procedures in the patient record and updates care plans.
• Develops or revises the plan of care in collaboration with the physician.
• Communicates with the care team and provides reports to oncoming staff.
• Maintains therapeutic protocols and assists with patient satisfaction goals.
• Assists with education of nursing and staff on Respiratory Care procedures.
