Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care across respiratory services in accordance with physician orders. The role involves collaborating with physicians to assess therapy effectiveness and serving as a key resource for the clinical team.

Minimum qualifications include CoArc-approved respiratory care training, an active RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential, with PALS required for ER staff and ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• PALS is required for co-workers who work in the Emergency Room.
• ACLS is preferred.
• Physical demands include push, pull and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 10 lbs; kneel, crouch, crawl.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.

Education

CoArc approved Respiratory Care program

Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC)

ACLS certification (preferred)

PALS certification (required for ER)
