Job summary

ArchCare seeks a Respiratory Therapist to render respiratory care and diagnostic services ordered by physicians, collaborating with the healthcare team to maintain airway patency. You will participate in rounds to ensure patient comfort and respond quickly to unit calls for respiratory care.

Responsibilities include bedside procedures, ventilator setups, documentation, and equipment maintenance. Requires NBRC/FDCG-17 Gas certificate, ACLS, BLS, PALS, and an AAS in Respiratory Therapy.

Qualifications

• NBRC Registered FDNY G-17 Bulk Medical Gas Certificate of Fitness.
• ACLS certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• PALS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Render respiratory care and diagnostic services ordered by physicians and the healthcare team.
• Establish and maintain a patent airway for residents/patients with respiratory difficulty.
• Perform routine rounds to assess comfort and well-being of residents receiving care.
• Respond promptly to unit calls requesting respiratory care services.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including monitoring, bedside pulmonary function tests, and ventilator setups.
• Document in medical records and department forms as required.
• Assemble, clean, and disinfect respiratory care equipment.
