Job summary

Northwest Healthcare in Oro Valley, AZ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to administer advanced therapies, perform assessments, and collaborate with the patient care team. You will document procedures, monitor responses, and ensure safety across respiratory care plans.

The role requires RRT licensure and active certifications (BCLS, ACLS, PALS; NICU-specific credentials if applicable), with nights/PRN schedule and opportunity for professional growth within the facility.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of respiratory experience in an acute care setting preferred
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire required
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation if working in the NICU Department required
• STABLE - Neonatal Certification if working in the NICU Department required

Responsibilities

• Administers advanced respiratory treatments, performs assessments, and monitors patient responses to ensure effective care.
• Orients patient to treatment modality prior to procedure to facilitate cooperation and successful completion.
• Performs arterial blood gas punctures accurately and reports results promptly.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as assigned.
• Performs pulmonary testing procedures as assigned.
• Follows respiratory protocols and regulatory standards to ensure safety.
• Communicates with peers, healthcare staff, physicians, and leadership for timely information flow.
• Maintains respiratory therapy equipment and ensures proper function and cleanliness.
