Northwest Healthcare in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - RRT to administer pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic respiratory care per physician orders. You will perform assessments, monitor patient responses, and implement treatment plans to promote effective respiratory care and rehabilitation, with hospital policies guiding practice.

This role emphasizes documentation, patient safety, teamwork with healthcare professionals, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• RRT certification and active licensure required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP and STABLE required for NICU work.
• BCLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory treatments and monitors patient responses.
• Prepares patients and documents procedures clearly.
• Performs ABG punctures and reports results promptly.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as needed.
• Follows protocols and safety guidelines to ensure quality care.
• Maintains equipment and adheres to infection control standards.
• Documents all treatments accurately for patient records.
• Manages ventilator settings and airway maintenance as required.
• Provides age-appropriate oxygen therapy according to patient needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist

BCLS - Basic Life Support

ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support

PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support

NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation

STABLE - Neonatal Certification
