Job summary

Banner Health in Buckeye, AZ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT Advanced Practitioner) for the Emergency Department night shift. You will provide advanced respiratory care, diagnostic testing, and support to physicians across an ED team, including leadership on assigned shifts.

The role requires NBRC RRT, current licensure, BLS, and ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable; 3+ years of acute care experience preferred. This on-site position offers a 12-hour night schedule with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required.
• RRT by Oct 2017 for current incumbents, or have RRT to start.
• Current state license to practice respiratory care.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable to specialty.
• Must have valid driver’s license for home care settings.
• Banner Registry and Travel roles require at least 1 year in acute care.

Responsibilities

• Provide all basic and advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Perform arterial/venous access procedures as needed.
• Manage mechanical ventilators and adjust settings with physician oversight.
• Assemble, calibrate, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Assess patients and document response and plan of care.
• Act as resource for therapists and staff; participate in rounds.
• Contribute to quality monitoring, policy updates, and staff training.
• Possible shift supervision and operational oversight on assigned shift.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams for optimal patient outcomes.
