Job summary

Methodist Charlton Medical Center seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to perform ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support for adults and neonates. Under indirect supervision, you’ll assess and treat patients, following department policies and procedures, with attention to diverse patient needs.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, NBRC registration, Texas licensure, and ALS/ACLS; NRP/PLS to be obtained within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• NRP / Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing in Texas
• Registered by NBRC
• Minimum 6 months respiratory care experience

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosols, humidity therapy and bronchial hygiene.
• Administer ABG analysis, pulse oximetry and pulmonary function studies.
• Care for adults and neonates under supervision and document assessments.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data to guide treatment.
• Operate, check and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ventilators.
• Contribute to infection control, safety and quality assurance.
