Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care for both adult and neonatal patients. Work includes ABG, PFTs, ventilator management, and airway maintenance under indirect supervision of the Medical Director.

Required licensure in Texas, NBRC registration, and Basic/Advanced Life Support certifications.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support - must obtain within 1 year of hire.
Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
At least 6 months respiratory care experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Performs respiratory therapies including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance and chest physiotherapy.
Performs prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures: ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECGs.
Prepares a treatment evaluation with bedside assessment, patient interview and medical record review.
Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots respiratory equipment.
