Job summary

Mercy in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a full-time role. You will provide direct patient care in respiratory therapy, consult with physicians on treatment effectiveness, and serve as a resource to nursing staff. The position requires NBRC RRT certification and state licensure as an RCP.

PALS is required for ER staff; ACLS is preferred. Regular patient care duties apply.

Qualifications

• Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
• For ER coworkers, PALS is required; ACLS preferred.
• Maintain state licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care as ordered by physicians.
• Consult with physicians on the effectiveness of therapy.
• Act as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.
• Perform duties as assigned and operate respiratory care equipment.
