Summary of Job Duties: The Registered Respiratory Therapist at Arkansas Health Center (AHC) in Benton, AR, provides essential respiratory care including updrafts, MDIs, CPT, ABGs, spirometry, IPV, patient education, and mechanical ventilator management. The Therapist will assist in emergencies and perform specialized respiratory procedures as required. AHC is a 310-bed skilled nursing psychiatric facility serving elderly and disabled individuals with complex needs, including cognitive impairments. This role supports AHC’s mission to provide specialized respiratory services and care for its residents.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma/GED plus two years of direct respiratory care experience or Associate's degree in respiratory care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• Current Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of respiratory care procedures and treatments.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Familiarity with medical equipment, supplies, terminology, and treatments.
• Organization and time management skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in respiratory care.
• Certifications such as ACCS, NPS, ACLS.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform routine respiratory procedures including updrafts, MDIs, CPT, ABGs, spirometry, IPV.
• Assist with bedside bronchoscopies, tracheotomies, and trach management, including emergencies.
• Educate patients on respiratory device use, care, and cleaning.
• Transport equipment and medical supplies; manage mechanical ventilators.
• Document patient treatments and enter notes into the electronic chart system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
