Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital in Round Rock, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the Nights | Full-time role. You will evaluate and care for patients with respiratory needs, develop and monitor care plans, and respond to emergencies while educating patients and families.

Minimum requirements include NBRC RT credential, TX license, and BLS; a relevant associate degree or higher is expected with clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Required credentials: NBRC-registered RT and TX licensure prior to hire.
• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent with relevant clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support certification and strong patient assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care.
• Implement and monitor care plans and equipment; monitor patient condition and communicate changes.
• Deliver advanced respiratory care modalities and evaluate outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and available programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.


• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.


• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.


• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.


• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.


• Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional/temporary license will be accepted until license is issued.


• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
