Job summary

Ascension Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for the night shift, full-time. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is offered to qualified candidates.

You will document patient changes, perform advanced modalities, monitor outcomes, and respond to resuscitation code calls within the Respiratory Care department. Licensure and BLS are required; NBRC credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• RC Practitioner credential from Illinois required within 120 days.
• ALS/ACLS/PNs preferred; Neonatal/Pediatric life support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document and communicate patient status changes to the care team.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities as required.
• Evaluate practice and treatment outcomes for quality.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Documentation and Communication: Monitor, accurately record, and effectively communicate changes in the patient's condition to the care team.
• Advanced Modalities: Perform advanced respiratory care modalities as required.
• Quality and Outcomes: Evaluate respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment effectiveness based on patient outcomes.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency resuscitation team code calls.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred. Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) from National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
