Job summary

Ascension Franklin in Franklin, WI is hiring a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver patient-specific respiratory therapy during nights on a full-time schedule. You’ll design care plans, apply advanced modalities, and monitor patient responses, while educating families and coordinating with the emergency team.

The role emphasizes readiness, equipment safety, and collaboration within the Respiratory department.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date or transfer date required.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credential required prior to hire.
• Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design individualized care plans by assessing patient needs and diagnoses.
• Drive clinical excellence through advanced respiratory modalities and real-time adjustments.
• Educate patients and families with clear, actionable health information.
• Lead life-saving interventions as part of the emergency resuscitation team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• Registry in Respiratory Therapy (RRT) preferred. 3 years adult critical care experience preferred. Arterial line and intubation competence preferred. Must be willing to train in placement of advanced lines (ie arterial, mid-line /PICC) insertions needed
