Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• State radiologic technologist license required if applicable.
• BLS for healthcare providers required.
• May be required to complete MA Competency Checklist and function as MA in clinic.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT competency in clinical/technical functions.
• Ensures proper patient identification, order verification and prep for exam.
• Performs exams per protocol and reviews images for quality and accuracy.
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe environment.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising care.
• Assists and instructs students and other radiology staff in protocols and positioning.
• Provides patient education, comfort, and addresses concerns.
• Practices infection control and sterile techniques.
• Operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
• Keeps records of patient information, procedures, and adverse reactions.
• Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC, and equipment failure reporting.
