Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY seeks a Registered Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging using X-ray and related equipment, ensuring high quality images and patient safety.

You will prepare patients, position them correctly, maintain infection control, and support students during training as part of the radiology team.

Active RO license with ARRT-R is required; ROT with ARRT-R is acceptable with contingency; one year general radiography experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RO (State Radiography license) and ARRT-R certification required.
• ROT (Temporary State Radiography License) with ARRT-R to be obtained before ROT expiration.

Responsibilities

The Registered Radiology Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
