Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY, seeks a Registered Radiology Technologist to produce high quality diagnostic images using radiographic equipment. You will prepare patients, explain procedures, maintain radiation safety, ensure correct positioning, and manage image quality per standards.

You will assist and train students as part of clinical education and uphold infection control and quality assurance practices.

Qualifications

• Active state radiography license (RO) and ARRT-R.
• Alternatively ROT with ARRT-R to obtain before ROT expiration.

Responsibilities

The Registered Radiology Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
