Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician for medication reconciliation and BPMH documentation for older adults in the Emergency Department, under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. You will assist with the acquisition, preparation, checking and distribution of medications and supplies to the ED.

The role requires one year of Pharmacy Technician experience, Texas registration (CPhT), and IV certification within three months.

Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy and keyboarding/data entry skills required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to use computer applications.
• Advanced Pharmacy Technician knowledge of pharmacy terminology and procedures.
• Ability to prioritize work in a high-volume work environment.
• Adapt to changes in workload and schedule to meet patient needs
• Ability to communicate with patients and/or family members of all educational levels.
• Efficient operation and ability to troubleshoot specialty machinery, equipment or software as necessary in performing job functions.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, document and maintain BPMH for patients 65+ in the Emergency Department.
• Assist Pharmacist with acquisition, preparation, checking and distribution of medications and supplies to the ED.
