University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician for medication reconciliation and BPMH documentation for older adults in the Emergency Department, under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. You will assist with the acquisition, preparation, checking and distribution of medications and supplies to the ED.
The role requires one year of Pharmacy Technician experience, Texas registration (CPhT), and IV certification within three months.
The Registered Pharmacy Technician Medication Reconciliation works under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist and is responsible for obtaining, documenting and maintaining accurate best possible medication histories (BPMH) for older adult patients aged 65 years and older in the Emergency department. Assists the Pharmacist with the acquisition, preparation, checking and distribution of medication products and supplies to the Emergency Department (ED).
One year of previous work as a Pharmacy Technician is required. Experience in sterile compound preparation is preferred.
Current and active registration to work as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required. IV certification is required to be completed within three months of being in the position, and be maintained annually at the responsibility of the department.
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduation from a Pharmacy Technician program is preferred.
Medication History certificate of completion by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) (or equivalent advanced credential) is required to be obtained within 1.5 years of being in the position will be ensured by the department.
