Job summary

Ascension Health invites qualified nurses to join Via Christi, St Francis in Wichita, KS, in an Operating Room setting. This full-time evening shift role runs Monday–Friday from 10:30am to 7:00pm, with leader call rotation.

Tuition discounts and priority program placement are part of our academic partnership with Wichita State University. Responsibilities include leading nursing and support teams, optimizing patient assignments, and driving outcomes in a fast-paced unit while safeguarding

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing is required.
• ALS obtained within 6 months of hire date (AHA/ARC accepted).
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date (AHA/ARC accepted).
• Education requires licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive shift performance and staff development by assigning, mentoring, and evaluating nursing and support teams.
• Optimize daily patient assignments through active needs assessments and population-appropriate care.
• Elevate clinical outcomes by assessing care quality and implementing immediate solutions.
• Protect the patient experience by addressing concerns and resolving care complaints.

Education

Advanced Life Support (ALS) within 6 months of hire

• Protect the patient experience by swiftly addressing concerns and resolving care complaints through appropriate channels.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• One or more of the following required:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
