Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse to support school-based health services. The RN will be assigned to two schools, working 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday 7:45am to 3:45pm, with no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities include patient care, maintaining records, administering medications, and collaborating with parents, staff, and physicians to ensure student wellbeing. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Nursing, current Illinois RN license, CPR certification,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Current CPR certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• Current Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Licensure required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish experience preferred.

• Provides care appropriate to the ages served and responds to medical needs.
• Utilizes and maintains student health records per state guidelines and school policy.
• Administers and monitors medications and prescribed treatments for students.
• Identifies and refers students with health concerns; collaborates with parents, staff, and physicians as needed.
• Performs school health screenings and attends health-related meetings and trainings.

Hourly Pay Range: $25.61 - $39.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position: Registered Nurse School Program Location: Will be assigned to 2 schools Part-Time | 20 hours/week Hours: Monday - Friday: 7:45am - 3:45pm, no weekends or holidays.

What you will do:

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.
• Assumes responsibility for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or sudden illness.
• Maintains up to date health records on all students according to state compliance guidelines and school policy.
• Administers and monitors medications and/or prescribed medical treatment given to any student while attending school.
• Assumes responsibilities for identification and referral of any students with medical, dental, healthcare needs.
• Consults with parents, school personnel, physician and other agencies as needed.
• Advises on exclusion and readmission of students with infectious diseases.
• Provides health and wellness programs for students as requested by staff.
• Proves in services and advises staff on health needs.
• Makes home visits to observe student and family as needed.
• Conducts school health screenings to include vision and hearing.
• Makes appropriate referrals.
• Follows and maintains school health policy and district guidelines.
• Advises on modification of an educational program to meet the health needs of identified students.
• Evaluates environmental safety and provides and environment that is safe that is based on age and developmental status.
• Attends meetings and conferences regarding student health services and curriculum.

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Certification: Current CPR certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
