Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for our School Program, assigned to two schools in Illinois. You will provide nursing care to students and staff during the school day, Mon-Fri 7:45am-3:45pm, 20 hours weekly, with weekends and holidays off.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Nursing, an active Illinois RN license, CPR certification, and preference for bilingual English/Spanish. Compensation is hourly, with a pay range of $25.61–$39.69, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Current CPR certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Licensure is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care appropriate to the age of students.
• Maintains up-to-date health records per state guidelines and school policy.
• Administers and monitors medications or treatments for students.
• Identifies and refers students with medical or health needs to appropriate resources.
• Collaborates with parents and school staff to support student health.
• Performs school health screenings and arranges referrals as needed.
• Advises on health policy modifications to meet student needs.
• Attends meetings regarding student health services and curriculum.

Hourly Pay Range: $25.61 - $39.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Registered Nurse School Program
• Location: Will be assigned to 2 schools
• Type: Part-Time | 20 hours/week
• Hours: Monday - Friday: 7:45am - 3:45pm, no weekends or holidays.

What you will do

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
• This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.
• Assumes responsibility for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or sudden illness.
• Maintains up to date health records on all students according to state compliance guidelines and school policy.
• Administers and monitors medications and/or prescribed medical treatment given to any student while attending school.
• Assumes responsibilities for identification and referral of any students with medical, dental, healthcare needs.
• Consults with parents, school personnel, physician and other agencies as needed.
• Advises on exclusion and readmission of students with infectious diseases.
• Provides health and wellness programs for students as requested by staff.
• Proves in services and advises staff on health needs.
• Makes home visits to observe student and family as needed.
• Conducts school health screenings to include vision and hearing.
• Makes appropriate referrals.
• Follows and maintains school health policy and district guidelines.
• Advises on modification of an educational program to meet the health needs of identified students.
• Evaluates environmental safety and provides and environment that is safe that is based on age and developmental status.
• Attends meetings and conferences regarding student health services and curriculum.

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Certification: Current CPR certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• License: Current Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Licensure
