Job summary

Endeavor Health in Illinois is hiring a Registered Nurse for a School Program. The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, assigned to two schools, with hours Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 3:45pm, and no weekends or holidays.

The nurse will provide age-appropriate care, manage injuries/shocks, maintain health records, administer medications, and collaborate with families and staff to support student health and safety. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Current CPR certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served with attention to physical and psychological needs.
• Assumes responsibility for care of a student or staff member with injury or sudden illness.
• Maintains up-to-date health records per state guidelines and school policy.
• Administers and monitors medications and/or prescribed medical treatment at school.
• Identifies and refers students with medical needs; coordinates with parents and school personnel.
• Advises on exclusion/readmission of students with infectious diseases.
• Delivers health/wellness programs and in-services for staff.
• Makes home visits as needed and conducts school health screenings.

$25.61 - $39.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

Position: Registered Nurse School Program

Location: Will be assigned to 2 schools

Part-Time | 20 hours/week

What you will do:

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.
• Assumes responsibility for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or sudden illness.
• Maintains up to date health records on all students according to state compliance guidelines and school policy.
• Administers and monitors medications and/or prescribed medical treatment given to any student while attending school.
• Assumes responsibilities for identification and referral of any students with medical, dental, healthcare needs. Consults with parents, school personnel, physician and other agencies as needed.
• Advises on exclusion and readmission of students with infectious diseases.
• Provides health and wellness programs for students as requested by staff.
• Proves in services and advises staff on health needs.
• Makes home visits to observe student and family as needed.
• Conducts school health screenings to include vision and hearing. Makes appropriate referrals.
• Follows and maintains school health policy and district guidelines.
• Advises on modification of an educational program to meet the health needs of identified students.
• Evaluates environmental safety and provides and environment that is safe that is based on age and developmental status.
• Attends meetings and conferences regarding student health services and curriculum.

What you will need:

• Education : Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Certification : Current CPR certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• License : Current Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Licensure
• Experience : Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred
